FAQ

  • Which airport should I fly to?

The nearest airport is Gothenburg Landvetter Airport (GOT). From the airport, you can take the Flygbussarna airport bus, which will take you to central Gothenburg. There's no need to pre-book tickets; just pay onboard. The bus makes a few stops in the city center.

  • What dates should I book my trip for? How long should I plan to stay?

Our wedding will be at the end of August. You're welcome to stay as long as you like. We’re planning some optional group activities around Gothenburg during the week leading up to the wedding, so feel free to come early if you'd like to join in.

If you want to combine the wedding trip with visiting other Nordic cities, you are welcome to ask us for recommendations. You can easily get to Norway and Denmark from Gothenburg by train.

  • Which hotel should I book?

We will look into if we can get any discounts at nearby hotels, but if you want to book already, we can recommend a few hotels all conveniently located in the city center.

Staying in the city center is ideal, as Gothenburg is compact and easy to get around.

  • What’s the weather like in late August?

August in Sweden is late summer, and Gothenburg’s daytime temperatures usually range from 17°C to 20°C, cooling down to 10°C to 15°C at night. While this might sound chilly, the long daylight hours and sun make it feel warm and comfortable. Sunset is late, so you’ll likely only need a light jacket for the evening.

Gothenburg is known for its rainy and windy weather, so we recommend packing a rain jacket instead of an umbrella.

Swedish weather can be unpredictable, so be sure to check the forecast a week before you travel.

  • What’s the currency, and should I bring cash?

Sweden uses the Swedish krona (SEK), not the Euro.
Almost everywhere in Sweden is cash-free—it's actually rare for establishments to accept cash. Visa and Mastercard cards are accepted at nearly all locations, so we recommend bringing an international credit or debit card for convenience. No need to carry cash!

  • What is the dress code?

Our wedding will be "semi-formal." Think suits, dress pants with blazers, dresses, dressy jumpsuits, or skirt-and-top combos. Most importantly, we want you to wear something you feel authentic and comfortable in. Note! The ground around the fortress is uneven (rounded cobblestones, small gravel, grass, and paved roads). Keep this in mind when selecting shoes.

  • I want to bring a wedding gift

There's no pressure to bring a gift — but if you'd like to, we have two options:

    • Contribute to our honeymoon fund. We are going on a long-awaited trip and want to make unforgettable memories. If you want to help, you can make a contribution (contact us if you want an account number).
    • Give a physical gift. We've been living together for a while, so what we could really use are decorative items, serving bowls or trays, hobby-related surprises, or fun wines and liquors.

If you have another idea in mind, just surprise us — we'd love that too!

Activities

We want to hang out with everyone before the big day, so some friends are organising a few activities around the city for us to enjoy together. Feel free to join whenever you want — it's up to you!

  • 27 Aug, Wednesday - Brazilian churrasco

    Göteborg

Join us for a relaxed barbecue before the big day! We'll have plenty of delicious food, drinks, and music. This is a casual drop-in event, so feel free to come by anytime and stay as long as you'd like.

When? From 5 to 9 PM, 27th of August 2025. Please RSVP to this event as food will be limited.

  • 29 Aug, Friday - Liseberg amusement park

    Göteborg

Liseberg is not only the biggest amusement park in the Nordics but also a wonderful theme park in central Gothenburg. Here you can walk around and enjoy the beautiful scenery, or dare to ride its great roller coasters.

Liseberg also has a concept they call "5-kamp", where adults and children alike can compete against each other in arcade-type games scattered throughout the park. Entry tickets can be purchased online at a cheaper price, but buying them at the park entrance is still possible.

When? Let’s meet by the main entrance at 15:00, when they open. Make sure to have a lunch beforehand.
